One way to begin a bedroom makeover is to create a new duvet cover. A duvet is a bag filled with down, feathers, wool or other natural stuffing to create a warm bed covering that takes the place of quilts and bedspreads. Or you can opt for a pillow sham is a decorative cover for the pillow or pillows on a bed.

In my own home, I have several sets of pillows and throws that I bring out as the season's change. It adds a very special homey touch to your home by changing your home decor in sweetly subtle ways. Or you can incorporate special occasion accent pieces -- 4th of July pillows, Holiday throws, etc.

My throws have proven to be popular with more than just family and friends. My mother in law tells me that her cats practically live on one of the handmade throws I created for her last Christmas.
